In the fall 2007, North Harbor Diesel lost its primary yacht repair building (13,000 SF.) to a fire. Once the inspectors deemed the building to be a total loss it became imperative I find a competent General Contractor to coordinate the removal of the old building and oversee the construction of the new one as expediently as possible. Since the job was covered by my business insurance I was required to get a couple of bids from experienced and proven General Contractors. I received bids from Fisher & Sons and Anacortes Construction Services (ACS).  After reviewing the proposals it was my conclusion that ACS offered more for the dollar. In retrospect, it was an excellent choice. ACS not only met my needs, but also facilitated the expansion of the building to 21.500 SF in a timely and cost efficient manner. One major concern of mine was erroneous change orders and cost overruns during construction. The only cost overruns I received were due to “unforeseen” issues and/or my requested upgrades or changes.

Overall, I would highly recommend ACS for any commercial or industrial project, but more importantly due to their professionalism and honesty. I would not hesitate to work with ACS on any future projects.

This is a letter of reference regarding Brian Johnson, owner of Anacortes Construction Services LLC.  Brian was hired, through a bid process, by the Wilbur-Ellis Co. in the winter of 2007/2008 to general contract a significant capitol improvement project.

During the preliminary bid process Brian demonstrated a keen understanding of the construction project.  Brian’s knowledge of the local subcontractors was invaluable and enabled ACS to place an accurate bid on time.

Brian was well organized and during the bid selection meeting Brian demonstrated that ACS stood above the other bidding contactors.  Needless to say Wilbur-Ellis Co. awarded ACS the bid.

The construction project started on time and proceeded according to the time line that Brian provided.  I personally found Brian and his crew accommodating and very professional. During most construction project unforeseen problems occur.  Brian and his crew made every effort to quickly fix the issue that enabled the project to continue.

The completion of the project was on time and on budget.  Now two years after completion the building and adjoining structures has performed above expectations. This project has enabled Wilbur-Ellis Co. to meet the demands of our current and future markets and continue with a profitable business plan.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Brian and the crew of ACS for any capitol improvement projects.
